we've moved in

We are now living in our very first house!  We officially moved in on September 13th (thanks Luke, Loren, and Elsa!), but since we've still have our lease on our apartment until the end of October, we've been taking it slowly as we finish getting everything over here. Noah's really taken to the new house as well.  We started doing the Sleep Lady's sleep coaching once we moved in, and now he's sleeping through the night pretty regularly.  Yay! He loves to talk to all the furniture in the house, and seems to enjoy his room. We are still working on getting decorations up on the walls and figuring out what furniture to keep and what to get, but things are starting to look pretty well lived in.  Here is a picture of our new place:

Happy October! Noah is now nine months old.  It seems like he's been around forever - no wonder pregnancy seems to be never ending!  =) We just had his check-up with his doctor, and here are the newest stats: He is now 30 inches long and weighs 19 lbs. 12 oz.  The kid is tall and skinny (I have no idea who he gets it from.  ;-) )  The crazy thing is that he's actually dropped percentile points for both height and weight.  He's no longer off the charts for height.  Now, he's only in the 95th percentile.  He's just under 50th percentile for weight.  His head is 17 & 7/8 inches around putting him in the 50-75th percentile. In other news, we just got two more teeth.  He had had two teeth on bottom and two teeth on top, and I was watching for the next two on top since they looked like they could pop out any time.  Well, tooth #5 turned out to be on the bottom.  Totally surprised me.  Then, the next day, tooth #6 showed up, but it's on top.   They are bot

we have keys!

After a much longer than expected escrow process, we finally closed on Friday!  We got the keys in the afternoon, and enjoyed just spending some time in what is now our house.  We also decided to have dinner there, so I prepped some food at our apartment and cooked our first meal in the new house.  It was kind of fun doing something that we know we'll do countless more times in the future.  Of course, it will be a LOT easier once we have a refrigerator and all of our stuff moved in. Then, this weekend, we took a few car loads of boxes over.  Mostly books and things that we don't plan to use for the next couple of weeks.  Our bookcase here is beginning to look quite bare.  It almost makes me want to go used-book store shopping to fill it up!  We are also having quite a lot of fun visualizing how we want the house to look.  We keep changing our mind on which room will be Noah's room and which one will be the office/library.  It's funny how, even though they are just ab
