I took pictures this month!!!  I think I've finally figured out the phone thing, and we had enough real events to take my bigger camera around. The month began by me taking a date with this guy! (No, not the elephant - the cute one on the right!) We had a lovely time at the zoo.  We rode the carousal, fed the birds, and walked around a fair bit soaking up the experience.  We've had a few rough months, so it was a good time to connect with my baby.  N had a date with his daddy that same morning. A few days later, the local high school sponsored a free Astronomy night.  We had such an amazing time.  Of course, I loved all the Doctor Who themed stuff, but the boys also got to go into a bubble planetarium, make a star chart, play games, look through a telescope, get their faces painted and eat candy.  What's not to love? N has been in our church's choir this past year.  They led worship for us on Palm Sunday, and it was wonderful. ...

"Our" Russian Tortoise

When I was a kid, we had a number of pets.  We had dogs, chickens, bunnies, and even some tortoises.  One of our tortoises was named "Lucky."  She came to us because my dog had her in its mouth.  We thought "Lucky" was an appropriate name for her. It seems that history has repeated itself.  We had a picnic at a local park, and someone pointed out a "turtle" for us to look at.  I realized that he looked a lot like Lucky, and this wasn't a turtle but a tortoise.  I know these aren't native to our area, and he was probably someone's pet.  We called PetCo and have been referred to The Frog Lady in Edmonds.  We've been in contact with her while we wait until we can give him up to another foster family or when there is a space at their facility or ideally find his actual owners.
