We are so blessed to have my family here for Christmas this year. It's been an eventful Christmas, but with just eight of us, it feels much quieter of a year. It's been nice. We've been able to focus on what is really important. Jesus has been more at the center with time for daily readings and conversations about Christmas is all about.
Christmas Day was pretty quiet as well. Grandma and Papa have been staying at a nearby hotel, so before they came over to our house, the boys opened their gifts from their other set of grandparents. They loved their gifts.

The next day, we took advantage of the non-rainy weather and headed out to Green Lake. I brought my new binoculars in hopes of seeing a bald eagle that I once saw there four years ago.
I was blessed! We saw a bald eagle in the same place I saw him four years ago. Here is a picture of him through my binoculars with my point-and-shoot.
And here he is without the binoculars with the same camera.
That afternoon, we went to the Seattle Center and hung out at the Pacific Science Center where we are members.
Then, we headed over to the Center House to see the model train exhibit that we missed earlier in our downtown trip.
Since then, my family has left to go back to California. Life is beginning to look more like normal, and the Christmas decorations will probably be put away this coming weekend. It's always a little bit sad when Christmas ends, but I'm thankful for the incredible gift that Christ is to us, and that gift is always with us.
Soli Deo Gloria
wow I'm actually really impressed that you could get such a good picture with a point-and-shoot + binoculars combo! Very neat.
